Following a lineage dating back four millennia, artisans from southern Mexico have created functional pottery using nothing but clay, water, fire, and their skilled hands.
Clay and Fire opened our eyes to the subtle—yet profound—beauty of rustic, sophisticated, complex, and simple pottery. This photographic exhibition, open to the public from March 13 to May 27, 2017 in Plaza Luis Cabrera (Mexico City), was complemented with information about the work that Innovating Tradition ac and Cooperativa 1050° have carried out over the last years, opening roads to the pottery of Oaxaca by the hand of the potters. This sample was an extension of the exhibition touching the earth, in the gallery Terreno Baldío.
